Re: Any ideas?
Now that this is all ending, can you tell us how you're connected with the show? haha, if not, I completely understand.
Also, who is your favorite cast member that you've met?
--- Set by Emma. On WoO.

Re: Any ideas?
Yes, Mistress and I actually met through a common love of the show, and of Broadway, and have become the best of friends.
She is also correct in her statements of our knowledge. Anything posted as fact by us comes from within and is based on what we are "allowed" to speak of..
In regards to the recording of the show, as Harvey is fond of pointing out to patrons snapping pictures, that is a $10,000 fine. As far as officially recording, it is an incredibly expensive and labor intensive thing, so it rarely happens with shows, sadly.
favorite people? Apples, oranges, and bananas. I have made many close friends from the show and I cherish that, so it wouldn't be easy, or right, to pull ONE out of the hat..
There is definatly going to be a company party, but like all the big events, it will be a closed party, I am certain. Invite only.
In regards to a "favorite cast" list, I've been thinking about it.. but it's hard.. do you want me to pull only from the Broadway company? Or include the first national tour, Networks tour, Toronto and Vegas productions? The major regional ones?? I end up having to list a good 5 for every role.
Scary to think about, but I have seen pretty muche very understudy in the Broadway company. The only one that has gone on that I have missed was Rashad Naylor as a Dynamite. The one time a guy has gone on.. EVER. I recently saw Summer Broyhill as Velma and was struck that she is my last "new" understudy.. There are two understudies I haven't seen go on, and sadly, it would have to be a MAJOR emergency for either to happen, so I don't see that occuring -- Lori Eve Marinacci as Penny and Travis Robertson as a Dynamite..
Geez.. I am going to have to write a book length dissertation after closing.. Wowzers.

Re: Any ideas?
I saw a male cast member understudy a Dynamite in the Networks tour. Not Broadway, but still...

Re: Any ideas?
Yes, because the Networks tour is done a "budget", they have a smaller cast.. which can lead to some very interesting things. Sometimes, "Wilbur" is actually younger than "Tracy" for example.. and they have fewer swings, which leads to some interesting moments as well... Inez sometimes understudies the Dynamites on tha tour as well.. so.. it's interesting.
On Broadway, a male has only played a Dynamite once. Rashad naylor went on ONCE.. his performance with the show.. they have a $5,000 red suit on hand just in case that ever happens. It started due the fact that when the show first opened, they kept losing the black female swings, so Lorraine was the only 'reliable' understudy they had, so they decided to add a male understudy for extra security. Ever since, they have had three Dynamite covers - Lorraine, the black female swing, and one of the black boys. At one point, a white girl even understudied the Dynamites!
Under union rule, Inez can not understudy the Dynamites because Inez is a principal and the Dynamites are ensemble members. The reason you see understudies listed for Dynamites and not, say, Brenda, is because the Dynamites are considered a "featured specialty." Besides, when the show first opened, Inez was played by a little girl!
