my weird closing weekend experience..

So i had tickets for Tuesday night 12/30, but unfortunately we didnt read the tickets correctly and showed up at the Neil Simon around 745, when the show really started at 7. and i had really good seats too! row D left orch. we got there right before welcome to the 60s. my mom (who had the tickets) felt horrible! but from what i saw it was truly amazing. MJW was too awesome for words! i have always wanted to see her play tracy! Niki was so funny when she first meets Seaweed she makes this purring sound which was hilarious! everyone else was great too!
so stage door, im always paranoid about getting a good spot so i was slowly making my way to the back of the house during curtain call, but i stood right in front of the door! who came out: Kevin Meany,Kate, Mellisa, Tevin, Niki, Harvey!!, Katie, Curt (who is supper cute btw), Karen Mason (she was really funny!), Constantine (soo hot! hah), Charlotte, and Marrisa came out last! everyone was so nice! but the only thing that brothers me is that people like, Gretchen, and Lori Eve, never stay to sign. i heard Gretchen say "do you know who i play? Brenda" then she did a fake throw up which was funny, then she said "oh no you dont want my autograph" i wanted to meet her, but she left and that made me sad emoticon
oh and i also met Ryan O'Connor! he was so nice and funny!
so after the show, my mom talked to the i think the house manager who's name is Steve and he said that we could come back to see the first act at the friday mat. so we came back and he was so nice, we didnt have an actual seat, they gave us folding chairs to sit on in the mez. i really just wanted to see MJW's good morning baltimore! i was so happy to see the show but at the same time, i was very sad that it was closing.
but im sure theres a good chance of a revival in the next few years! (lets hope it will be soon!)

The staff at the neil Simon is great. As long as you treat everyone with respect, that is. :-)

Glad you enjoyed the show! What did you think of Harvey?

Truth be told, if you want to catch the ensemble members, standing just in front of teh doors probably the worst place to be. Sadly, most people there only want the 'stars' and completely neglect the ensemble, or just say "great job" to everyone going past with NO idea as to who they are and what they did. But with Harvey and Winokur back, it can be a madhouse, and some of them just don't like to be caught in the madness when so few, sadly, give a damn.

I can remember numerous times where people ran up to me at the stage door asking for pix and autographs, swearing up and down that I was in the show. Typewise, I look very much like I culd be one of the white kids, but lookede nothing like anyone on the stage that day in the slightest.

What did you think of Winokur and Harvey? And the show in general?

Curt is a sweetheart and, yes, extremely adorable. Connie is a dream onstage and off. Charlotte is one of the warmest, most kind individuals.. love talking to her any time that I can. Niki is a trip and a half. :-)

Harvey was fantastic!!
my favorite scene was when someone called and asked what edna was wearing and then he says very cheerfully "what are you wearing" and his face is so funny!
Marissa was also very good!
you cant get any better than the original cast!

I'm really glad you enjoyed the show! That's too bad about missing most of the the first half, but coming back for the mat. was really cool.

I really wish I could be there this weekend.

I was there for that performance too! I thought I saw Gretchen do the fake throw up thing, but I wasn't sure if I was just imagining it. Haha. I wanted to meet her too.

I was disappointed about not having Daniel there because I love him as Fender.

That's cool that they let you come back for the first act.

Daniel has elected to not stay with the show until closing. Luckily, we will be trated to Ryan Christopher Chotto today. he has always been one of my favorite male swings, so I am happy.

Daniel Robinson was not there because he was in LA for his next gig. Happy Days tour.

Originally he wasn't supposed to be there at all. But then he worked it out so that he could come back for the final show emoticon
